Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Press Operator to oversee and operate high-speed progressive stamping presses on 2nd shift. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on leadership in a metal stamping environment. This position is specific to metal stamping presses and is not related to printing press operations.
Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot high-speed progressive stamping presses
Lead and support press operators on shift to ensure safe and efficient production
Monitor press performance, quality, and output to meet production standards
Perform minor mechanical adjustments and assist with basic troubleshooting
Coordinate with die maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production procedures
Train and mentor press operators as needed
Qualifications:
5–10 years of experience operating high-speed progressive stamping presses OR
Strong mechanical background with demonstrated experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
Proven leadership or lead-operator experience preferred
Ability to read and understand blueprints, job travelers, and setup instructions
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Experience in metal stamping environments required
Printing press experience does not qualify for this role
Compensation & Benefits:
$18–$20 per hour (based on experience)
Additional 10% shift differential for 2nd shift
